Los restos del astrofísico Stephen Hawking, fallecido el pasado 13 de marzo a los 76 años, serán enterrados en la Abadía de Westminster junto a la tumba de Isaac Newton y Charles Darwin.
La Abadía es el templo más famoso del antiguo Londres y allí descansan otras figuras de la ciencia, además de que es la sede elegida para las coronaciones reales. Ahora, la edificación anunció que antes de sepultar las cenizas del también cosmólogo, se realizará una ceremonia de acción de gracias.

Estos funerales se llevarán a cabo en la iglesia de Great St Mary's, ubicada en Cambridge, donde el profesor vivió y trabajó por más de 50 años. "Fue una parte integral y reconocible de la ciudad a la que amó tanto y que también le ama", comentaron sus hijos Lucy, Robert y Tim.
