El año
nuevo lunar chino está siendo celebrado alrededor del mundo con linternas,
espectáculos, decoración y comida.
Las personas se están despidiendo del
año nuevo del perro en el cíclico décimo segundo año astrológico chino y dando
la bienvenida al año del cerdo con
esperanzas de felicidad y buena fortuna.
En la víspera de Año Nuevo, los miembros de la comunidad china se reúnen para cenar, dar sobres rojos a los jóvenes solteros y menores además de encender fuegos pirotécnicos en media noche.

Las calles
son decoradas, los kioscos son armados y los bailarines tradicionales
danzan al ritmo de la música levantando al dragón al aire.
El color rojo predomina en
las celebraciones,
linternas, ropa y letreros. En las casas y tiendas, muñecos de cerdos son
colocados en cada festival, que también es celebrado en Vietnam y en las
comunidades chinas alrededor de Asia y el mundo.
